CONN
The family of Robert “Bob” William Redden Conn of Rimbey, Alberta is saddened to announce his passing at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre – Long Term Care on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the age of 91 years.
Bob was a miracle baby. He was born prematurely in Vancouver, British Columbia on June 5, 1931, weighing less than four pounds. Bob spent his first days in a warming oven in his family’s home. He grew up healthy and strong, mastering many trades early in his life; some of which included: a taxi driver, ambulance driver, owning and operating an automotive garage, heating and gas fitting, a truck driver, and farming. Most importantly, Bob was always an incredible family man. He continually put his family first, which led to the family’s sixteen moves throughout the provinces over the years, until finally landing in Rimbey. Bob resided in Rimbey for the last nine years before moving into Rimbey Long Term Care for the last fifteen months of his life. The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at Rimbey Long Term Care for taking such good care of our wonderful man. He will be greatly missed.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Margo; two daughters Patricia Conn of Merritt, British Columbia; and Margaret Tanasiuk (Ed) of Rimbey; and his cherished grandchildren Andre Conn, Nygel Conn, Mitchel Tanasiuk (Amy), Richard Tanasiuk (Danielle), Robyn Bourke (Eddie), Megan Mitchell (Mat), Christopher Conn, and Adrian Conn; as well as great-grandchildren Mason, Lincoln, Benjamin, Aubree, Daxton, and Delaney. He will also be missed by numerous extended family and friends spread out across the provinces. Bob was predeceased by his parents Dr. Robert and Emma Conn; his son David Conn; and a sister Barbara Wark.
With respect for Bob’s wishes, a private family gathering was held on Sunday, June 4, 2023. Later in the afternoon, at 3:00 p.m., members of the public were invited to attend an informal get-together at the Bluffton Community Hall, Bluffton. Everyone was welcome to remember Robert William Redden Conn.
