Thomas “Tom” E. Helm of Bluffton, Alberta passed away quietly at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Area Two on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 82 years.


Tom was born in Rimbey, Alberta and dedicated his life to mixed grain and cattle farming.  He lived and farmed on his parent’s original homestead in the Bluffton area.  Tom enjoyed the endeavours of raising Hereford cattle; and spent many years also raising horses, often using the horses to assist with the haying.  In his younger years, Tom took pleasure in trapping beavers, hunting, and other outdoor adventures.


Tom will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his brother and best friend, Frank Helm of Rimbey; as well as several other family members; and many good friends and neighbours.  He was predeceased by his parents Ed and Hazel.


A Graveside Service in Tom’s Honour was held at the Hoadley Cemetery, Hoadley on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.  If desired, memorial donations in his memory may be made directly to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, c/o the Rimbey Hospital Legacy Committee, Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta  T0C 2J0 (www.rimbeyhospitallegacycommittee.com).  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
