AUBIN

With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Sylvianne Gracia Aubin (Cielien/Boyle) of Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the age of 86 years.  Sylvianne was born on September 12, 1938, in Falher, Alberta. 

Mom, Mudder, Grandma, Great-nana, Mémère, Ma tante, Sylvie, Sister, and Friend – these are all the names that Sylvianne had the privilege of being known as, and her family and friends had the privilege of lovingly calling her.  She was only 4 feet, 6 inches tall, but she stood taller than most in character, strength, spirit, and love.  Sylvianne was a social butterfly that danced into everyone’s heart.

“Mom, you will forever remain in our hearts.

Forever loved and never, ever forgotten.

Oh, how we miss you!”

Sylvianne leaves behind so many people that loved her, especially her daughters Michelle (Rick) Skwarek, and Christine (Vern) Cielien/Bushey; her grandchildren Christopher (Eric), Andrew, Stephen, Aaron, and Andrea (Tyler); and her precious great-grandchildren Ayva, Maddox, Hunter, Koltyn, Marcus, and Leif.  She also leaves behind her eldest sisters Cécile Bachand and Gisèle Desfossés; her brother Richard Aubin; as well as many, many nieces and nephews, and several cherished friends.  Sylvianne was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Lucienne Aubin; her husband of almost 38 years Thomas Boyle; her first husband Walter Cielien; and one brother Clément Aubin.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 5033 – 47A Avenue, Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with the Reverend Father Leon Kler, Celebrant.  Sylvianne will be laid to rest at a later date, together with her loving husband Thomas, in the Columbarium at the West Meadows Cemetery, Sylvan Lake.  If desired, memorial donations in her memory may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 100 – 119, 14 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta T2N 1Z6 (www.heartandstroke.ca).  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
