BECKER

With great sadness we announce the passing of Evelyn Irene Becker of Rimbey, Alberta.  Evelyn passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the age of 86 years.

Evelyn was born at Minnehik (Buck Lake), Alberta.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Evelyn loved her flowers and gardening, and spent many hours in her beautiful yard.

Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Doug; her daughters Shelley (Shawn) and Linda (Will); as well as her grandchildren Crystal, Gwen, Aaron, Carly (Brodie), and Mackenzie (Jayden); and her great-grandson Nixon.  She is also survived by her brothers Jerry (Donna) and Doug; her sister Deb (Les); a brother-in-law Bob Southern; in addition to her nieces and nephews; and many friends.  Evelyn was predeceased by her father and mother, Donald and Grace Cummings; her son Dean Becker; brother Larry Cummings; sister Donna Southern; and sister-in-law Dale Cummings.

A Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will be held at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre, Rimbey on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with Life Celebrant Brenda Watts presiding.  Interment will follow in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey.  If desired, memorial donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 100 – 119, 14 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta  T2N 1Z6 (www.heartandstroke.ca).  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
