BERGEY

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Julianna “Julie” Mae Bergey of Rimbey, Alberta.  Julie passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Long Term Care on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the age of 79 years.

Julie was born on February 27, 1945, in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, the seventh child of George and Ethel Armstrong.  On January 4, 1964, she met Henry, the love of her life, and they were married on March 30, 1964.  Their bond was unwavering, and Julie’s greatest wish was to be with Henry until the very end.  She passed away peacefully while holding his hand.

Julie’s love extended far beyond her immediate family.  For many years, she and Henry cared for foster children, including a time when they opened their hearts and home to ten children, with three babies under one year of age.  Julie also possessed a special love for Mexico and cherished the close-knit “Mexican family” she came to know and love.

Julie’s legacy of love, compassion, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Julie is deeply mourned by her devoted husband Henry; her children Lewis, Gordon (Cindy), and Kimberly (Jason); as well as her cherished grandchildren Tifa, Peyote, Cyrus, Ripley, Ezlan, and Sahara; and many others whose lives were touched by Julie’s warmth, kindness, and generosity.

With respect for Julie’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.  If desired, memorial donations in her memory may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice.  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
