Marchiena “Jean” Buist of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Long Term Care on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the age of 95 years.

Jean will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her loving sons William Buist of San José, Costa Rica; and Paul Buist of Kamloops, B.C.; as well as five cherished grandchildren Jeff, Rashel, Kye, Lisa, and Hanna; and four treasured great grandchildren MaeLee, Mira, Raylon, and Kieran. She is also survived by her sister Jo Kiers of the Netherlands; in addition to many nieces, nephews, close friends, and distant family members. Jean was predeceased by her husband Bouke “Bob” in 2018; and two sisters Rensina and Janny.

A Public Funeral Service in Celebration of Jean’s Life was held at the Christian Reformed Church, Rimbey on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Vanderploeg officiating. Interment followed in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey.
