FRASER
It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bert” Dixon Fraser of Bentley, Alberta. Bert passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the age of 50 years.
Bert was born in Bentley, Alberta on August 17, 1972, the youngest child of Ellen “Jean” Fraser (née Mulloy) and Gordon “Frank” Fraser. If you needed anything fixed, he was the person to go to. Bert was a “jack-of-all-trades” kind of guy, a millwright by trade, and a remarkable person who possessed a great sense of humour that could make anyone laugh. He graduated from the Bentley High School in 1990 as class president, and following graduation worked at the Bentley Ski Hill, Esso, and at Valley Steam Ltd. In 1999, Bert was blessed with his daughter Paige and they relocated to Blackfalds, Alberta. In 2003, he endeavoured upon his own pressure washing company, Wash Wizards, and operated this business for many years. Bert moved back to Bentley a few years ago and worked at Teamworks Fabricating Ltd. He enjoyed many other ventures in his lifetime, but his extensive knowledge of farming, animals, heavy-duty and electrical repairs, as well as his technical expertise in arcade machines kept him active. Bert also owned a unique Coca-Cola motorhome which he took great pleasure in keeping in top-notch shape. He always loved a good project to keep him busy. It was a rare occurrence if Bert didn’t know how to fix something; however, he would always find the answer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Bert is survived by his loving daughter Paige and her son Lincoln; and three brothers Scott (Yvonne), Jack (Cheryl), and Lorne. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews Madisson (Rick) and their daughter Parker; Westin (Abreena) and their children Saige and Nash; Lee (Justine) and their son Nolan; Wyatt (Lindsay); Lucas; and McKenzie (Randy) and their daughter Revi; as well as several extended family members and many dear friends. Bert was predeceased by his father Frank in 1998; and his mother Jean on July 13, 2023.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Bert’s Life will be held at the Blindman Valley Agricultural Centre, Bentley on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Brian Allan officiating. Interment will follow in the Bentley Cemetery, Bentley. If desired, memorial donations in Bert’s memory may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice. Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
