JACKSON

Suddenly and sadly, our beloved Jesse R. Jackson of Rimbey, Alberta was taken from us far too soon at the young age of 27 years. He was doing what he loved, just as the beautiful sun was setting for the evening on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Forever race the rain, Jesse.

Ride the wind.

Chase the sunset.

Jesse was born in Wainwright, Alberta on December 2, 1995. At the age of ten years, he moved with his family to Rimbey where he completed his schooling. Jesse possessed an enormous passion for life that encompassed anything to do with bikes, trucks, heavy equipment, fire trucks, and fishing. Jesse enjoyed his occupation as a heavy equipment operator in the oilfield industry. He especially appreciated anything that was built out of yellow iron! As long as it was a hefty piece of extra large equipment, he was thrilled! Jesse was also a dedicated member of Ponoka County Regional Fire Services, volunteering for the Fire Department in the Rimbey area. He respected his fellow firefighters, and strived diligently to obtain his Fire and Rescue qualifications and licensing. Mostly, he was excited to finally be able to boast being allowed to drive the pumper truck – or anything else that was big and available that he could get his hands on! In Jesse’s free time, he looked forward to the opportunity to venture out for a day of fishing. It was being in the comfort of nature, with a fishing rod in his hand, that he was the happiest. Nor could a day end until Jesse witnessed or imagined the splendor of a magnificent sunset. His greatest love above all was for his family, especially his son Dawson who was the biggest and brightest sparkle that completely filled Jesse’s heart.

While Jesse is riding with the angels, he will be greatly missed by those he has left behind: his parents Brian and Cathie; and his son, Dawson, who Jesse adored with unending love and attention; as well as his partner Kiera Davick; longtime best friend Travis Adzich; his brother Clinton (Cassandra) and their daughter Lucy; and his brother Cody. Jesse will also be greatly missed by his maternal grandparents Tim and Sara Herman; his paternal grandparents Harold Jackson and Dale Baldwin; in addition to several extended family members; his cherished fire department family; and many close and treasured friends.

A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Jesse’s Life will be held at the Co-operators AgRim Centre, 4905 – 48 Avenue, Rimbey on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with Chris Chabot hosting. Sharing time together in an arena filled with dirt, while wearing jeans, a buckle, and a pair of old boots, is an honest tribute to the down-to-earth, kind, and generous man that Jesse was.

If desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory directly to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, 800 College Plaza, 8215 – 112 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 2C8 (www.stollerykids.com). Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
