JAMES
With broken hearts we announce that Brian Charles James of Port Alberni, British Columbia passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey, Alberta on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 70 years.
Brian was born on January 24, 1954 in Port Alberni, and was the second son born to Les and Lydia James. A devoted family man – Brian, affectionately known as “Papa”, found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He spent the majority of his career serving as a produce manager at Safeway. Brian’s dedication and friendship touched the lives of countless co-workers, creating a lasting legacy. Outside of work, he embraced his passions; which included drag races, car shows, collecting Hot Wheels, exploring garage sales, and always being on the look-out for hidden treasures and deals. Brian will be remembered for his kind spirit and love for his family. His legacy will be continued through his cherished children and grandchildren, who will carry forward the love and wisdom he shared. Brian will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Brian will be lovingly remembered by his children Carleen (Shannon) Blackmore of Rimbey; Derek James (Rachelle Schwengler) of Port Alberni; and Corinne (Byron) Worke of Red Deer, Alberta. He will also be lovingly remembered by his cherished grandchildren Nevaeh, Taylor, Shelby, Dakota, Jordan, Piper, Eddie, Bodie, Chelsea, Jorja, and Jaymis; his brother Dug James of Port Alberni; as well as several additional family members and many close friends.
With respect for Brian’s wishes, an Informal Gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held in Port Alberni, British Columbia at a later date.
