JONES

With loving memories in our hearts, the family of Doris Marcella Jones (née Wennerstrom) sadly announces her passing.  Doris resided in Winfield, Alberta and passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey, Alberta on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the age of 92 years.

Doris is remembered by her children and stepchildren:  Allan (Darlene) Jones of Creston, British Columbia; Marla Mackiewich of Vernon, British Columbia; Greg (Bev) Jones of Edmonton; Brian (Betty) Becker of Alder Flats, Alberta; Dale Jones of Wetaskiwin; Gayle (Corry) Broks of Sherwood Park; and Dawna (Wade) Brodersen of Mayerthorpe, Alberta; in addition to twenty-one grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren.  Doris was predeceased by her parents Olga and Phillip Wennerstrom; her first husband Sherman Becker; her second husband Melvin Jones; her son Rodney Becker; four brothers and six sisters; as well as a special niece Shellie (Jones) Rodin.

A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at the Winfield Agriplex - Main Hall, Winfield on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Jeff Gooderham officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Mount Clare Cemetery, Winfield at a later date.  If desired, memorial donations in Doris’ memory may be made directly to the Winfield and District Agricultural Society, Box 131, Winfield, Alberta  T0C 2X0 (www.winfieldagsociety.com); or to the charity of one’s choice.  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
