LUKOCS
Cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, James “Jim” Lukocs of Rimbey, Alberta, passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the age of 85 years.
Jim was born on November 25, 1935 and raised in the Leedale District. He grew up helping on the family farm west of Rimbey. Following the completion of his school years, Jim went to work on the oil rigs and sawmills. It was during this time that he met Donna Misner, and they were united in marriage on October 18, 1957. Jim and Donna then joined his father on the farm, where they raised their family of five children. Jim was a hard-working farmer and loved all aspects of country life. The farm included cattle, hay, and grain. His favourite time of year was always harvest season. In his down time, Jim loved going camping with his family and neighbours – and nothing beat a big, roaring campfire! Jim and Donna enjoyed many holidays to Alaska, eastern Canada, Hawaii, Florida, and Mexico. He especially enjoyed trips to Radium Hot Springs and Las Vegas.
Jim will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Donna; and his treasured family of five children, thirteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren: son, Allen Lukocs; daughter, Denice (Gerard) Makofka and their children, Cheryl and Conrad; daughter, Elaine (Les) Fodor and their children, Lisa, Kyle, Michelle, and Darin; daughter, Judy (Carey) Anderson and their children, Jalaine, Jennifer, and Andrea; and son, Brent (Seanna) Lukocs and their children, Kaylyn, Anissa, Carson, and Brittany; as well as two precious great grandsons, Jason and Sawyer. He will also be missed by many other relatives, and a host of treasured friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Jimmie and Gizela Lukocs; and two sisters, Teresa Robinson and Mary Pederson.
A private Family Graveside Service was held at the Bradshaw Cemetery on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Williams officiating. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Jim’s memory may be made directly to the Bradshaw Cemetery, R.R. 4, Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0.
