William “Bill” James Schwab Sr. of Rimbey, Alberta passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the age of 79 years. 

Left behind to cherish Bill’s memory is his son Terry Schwab (Nadia Delanoy); and his special friend Darlene Metro.  He was predeceased by his parents, Otto and Bertha Schwab.

Bill was an adventurer.  He took life by the horns.  Whether Bill was trap shooting, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, golfing, or guiding, he was always enjoying the outdoors.  In his younger years, you would find Bill playing hockey and baseball, and keeping up with his community sporting events.  He would take his son to all the trap shooting events, which was quite an adventure for Terry.  Bill instilled this sense of loving the outdoors and staying active with his son to this day. 

Bill was also an avid musician and played in a band as the guitarist and singer for decades.  He loved being around people and when he found himself moving to Rimbey, he made friends quickly.  Bill became a part of a local coffee group that met a few times a week to catch up and share stories.  He was also very close with his neighbours, and they supported each other throughout the years.  Over the last few years, Bill could be found at each rodeo event in the Alberta circuit with his friend Darlene.  He loved that part of being a cowboy.
