TEEUWSEN

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Anne Marion Teeuwsen of Rimbey, Alberta. Anne passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 94 years.

She was born on August 18, 1930, in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan to her parents Paul and Olive Elizabeth (née Wellman) Yeoman.

Anne’s greatest passions in life were derived from the simplest and most honest things.  Her happiest place was being on the farm.  She was very fond of all her animals, and she loved taking care of each of them.  Being on the farm, Anne also appreciated her huge garden that was always filled with an abundance of vegetables and flowers.   She took pleasure in birds and respected everything about nature, especially the beauty that surrounded her through all four of the seasons.  Anne enjoyed photography, capturing special things and moments that she would hold dear.  She was also a very talented writer, and fancied writing stories.  She won numerous awards for her stories within the Alberta Women’s Institutes.  Anne’s greatest love of all was for her family.  She was devoted to each person and cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart.

Anne will be forever loved and dearly missed by her sons Terry (Jeannie), Glenn (Brenda), Wayne (Nancy), and Gerald.  She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Shaun (Lindsay), Shawnda, Shaylah (Kevin), Joel, Paul (Jenifer), Cheryl (Albert), and Blaine (Lennea); twenty-three great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.  Anne was predeceased by her parents; her first husband Thomas Hartford in 1960; her second husband Johannes Teeuwsen in 2019; her daughter-in-law Karen Teeuwsen; two grandchildren Jessica Hartford and Michael Guthrie; and one great-grandson Gavin Guthrie.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Nancy Haarstad for her love and compassion with Anne.

A Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held at a later date.  If desired, memorial donations in her memory may be made directly to the Parkinson Association of Alberta, 120 – 6835 Railway Street SE, Calgary, Alberta  T2H 2V6 (www.parkinsonassociation.ca).  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
